Intellectual Property In today's knowledge economy, companies and countries do not compete on price or hardware alone. Rather, ideas are at the heart of global competition.
Intellectual property, in the form of inventions and creations, brands, designs, trademarks, and know-how etc can be exploited for greater value and needs to be managed and protected from being copied.
Intellectual Property Management in Singapore From creation, through protection and ownership, development and management, and finally to eventual exploitation, these processes can be taken care of in Singapore.
Besides the pro-business environment, Singapore is ranked the first most IP-protective country in Asia (Political & Economic Risk Consultancy Ltd, 2000), with effective enforcement policies to protect intellectual property rights. Our strong legal system is managed by the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore, Singapore International Arbitration Centre, Composers & Authors Society of Singapore, Recording Industry Association (Singapore), Singapore Mediation Centre.
Singapore is also member of the Paris Convention, Berne Convention, Madrid Protocol, Nice Agreement, Patent Cooperation Treaty, Budapest Treaty, Agreement on Trade-related aspects of intellectual property rights (TRIPS) and World Intellectual Property Organisation
